Opening day at Plants and Pollinators — families and kids in butterfly wings fill the flower-arch play space

About this project

A play-and-learn pollinator world for a library's children's floor — honeycomb climbers, crawl tunnels, and tactile garden interactives built from materials engineered to outlast years of enthusiastic use.

The redesigned Parker experience offers a distinctive fusion of nature-inspired enjoyment and exploration. Children, adorned with butterfly wings and beekeeper hats, take part in hands-on activities that build both enjoyment and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Completed February 2025.

What success looked like

Success is kids in butterfly wings and beekeeper hats, building a deeper appreciation for the natural world at the Parker library — with Tagawa Gardens on board as the playscape’s sponsor. Here’s how the library invites families in:

“Watch imaginations soar as children learn about the plant-pollinator system through hands-on playtime in the apple play house, featuring a specimen table for insect observation.”
